Using Data Merge in Adobe InDesign – auto fill text fields and pages
This is a quick tutorial that explains how to use Data Merge in Adobe InDesign; I’m using Creative Suite CS5.5 but this should work in most other versions of InDesign including CC.
This could be used to automatically fill in business cards; certificates; invitations; mail merge etc. anything you could think up.
I have used Microsoft Excel to create the data, but you could use a simple text editor, just use a comma to separate each value.
There is also a free office suite called Libre Office https://www.libreoffice.org/ which could be used as an alternative to Excel.
