URI Fragments Spot
CINEMA 4D r12 & THRAUSI * AFTER EFFECTS CS5.5 * PHOTOSHOP CS5 * PREMIERE CS5.5
Animation, Composites, Edit & Mix by Eric Latek
This is a spot for Cox & URI. My objective was to depart from the super flashy 3D design you always see for sport splashes. It’s become generic and a washover in my opinion. The idea was to have more texture, mood, and make it feel Epic. So I went to Cinema 4D, created a 3D Text Model for each letter in “URI”. Splines were attached to each letter, as well as a Spline Effector. Thrausi was then used to divide and demolish each letter into almost 1000 pieces. The destruction was then slowly animated to return to it’s original state. a variety of cameras were placed throughout the simulation. A total of 7 days to render from Cinema 4D, exporting PNG sequences, material and depth passes. After Effects CS5.5 was used for the final composite to adjust depth of field for each camera, lens flares, particles, curves, grain. The final stage of cutting and sound mix was done in Premiere CS5.5.
