How to step and repeat using Adobe Illustrator
In this video I show how to step and repeat an object in a similar way to Adobe InDesign using Adobe Illustrator. I am using Illustrator CS6 but the same action works in most other versions of Illustrator.
In the video I use the Alt key while clicking and dragging to duplicate an object; then Ctrl + D to duplicate my last action to demonstrate the typical method.
And then I use Transform each to duplicate an object to an exact measurement or distance. I then use Ctr + D to repeat the action.
While this isn’t quite the same as Adobe InDesign it is a handy workaround if you want to repeat objects to an exact distance.
Thanks for watching.
