How to do Sky Replacement in After Effects tutorial (with tips)
How to do a sky replacement in Adobe After Effects CC (TWO ways.)
the video is long because i did a more complete tutorial, but basically they’re:
1. MASK: Use your pen tool (G) to mask around the foreground image, then put your sky behind it. (remember to check your modes: add or substract.) This is perfect for still shots or images.
2. MATTE: use the colorama effect on your video to create a black and white clip. (The white will be what you don’t need.) Duplicate your video layer and delete the colorama effect off the layer below, then change its trackMatte (press F4 to toggle switches) to luma inverted matte. This is better for videos that have camera movements or more intricate objects that would take forever to mask out.
