How to Create Stylish Emboss Text Effects by Photoshop

Step #1:
In this tutorial you will learn how to create a Emboss Text Effect that look so much like the real thing using Adobe Photoshop. So staying with us to learn this tutorial.

Step #2:
Open the Adobe Photoshop. Here I have used the Adobe Photoshop CS6. You can use it or another like Adobe Photoshop CC.

Step #3:
Open the Background image with on of it you want to present the Text Effect.

Step #4:
Go to the “Horizontal Type tool”. And type the text as you want for the emboss text effect. And apply a bold types font family and font size for the text. And Placed the text in a suitable position.

Step #5:
Right Click on the Font layer thumbnail and click on the “select pixel” option to select the font border pixel.

Step #6:
Now click on the background layer and press ctrl+c to copy the layer and ctrl+v to paste the layer. After done this, a new layer will be created for the selected pixel.

Step #7:
Now double click on the new layer or right click on the layer thumbnail and select “Blending Option” for apply the effect on the text.

Step #8:
Select and Click “Bevel & Emboss”. Select the style “Inner Bevel”, Technique “Smooth”, Depth “1000”, Direction “Up”, Size “25”, Soften “8”, Highlight Mode Opacity “30%”, shadow mode opacity “100%”. This setting can be change depend on your text or style.

Step #9:
Select and Click “Inner Shadow”. Select blend Mode “Multiply”, Opacity “10%”, check “Use Global Light”, Distance “11”, Choke “51”, Size “16”.

Step #10:
Select and check “Gradient Overlay”. Select Blend mode “Normal”, Opacity “5%”

Step #11:
Select and Click “Drop Shadow”. Select the Blend Mode “Multiply”, Opacity “60%”, Angle “120 degree”, and check the “Use Global Light”, Distance “8”, Spread “19”, Size “2”.

Step #12:
Click Ok. Now time to create light source for the text. To do this, Create a new layer.

Step #13:
Select this layer, hold down the CTRL key, and click on the thumbnail of one of the layers with with your text on it. This will allow you to create a selection on the light layer that is the same shape as the text layer.

Step #14:
Select the “Paint Bucket” tool and fill in the selected area on the light layer with white.

Step #15:
Click on the previous text layer where “Blending Option” applied.
Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, carefully move the selection four pixels to the right and two pixels down. One hit of the key will move the selection by one pixel.

Step #16:
Click Select, Modify, Feather to bring up the feathering tool. Set the “Feather Radius” to 2 pixels. Press OK to feather the selection.

Step #17:
Once the selection has been feathered, hit the “Delete” key on your keyboard to clear away all but a few pixels of the white fill.

Step #18:
Set the opacity of the light layer to 40%.

Congratulation, You should now have a realistic looking embossed effect, as shown this,

Now you can save this style as an Photoshop file format .psd, using File “Save”. Again, you can save this style as an image file , using File “Save”. And select the image extension whatever you want.

Step #21:
Emboss text effect is useful for the graphics designer. Use these effects to give them a better understanding of what the final product will look like. Now you can create embossed and embossed effects for your marketing collateral mock-ups to realistic this effect, as you want.
