Hand drawn workflow 2: Automated scan/drawing clean up in Photoshop

Importing your drawings into Photoshop, deleting the background and cleaning up the line work. This tutorial covers how to do this using actions and scripts and apply your settings to multiple layers (i.e. many frames at once). Automating boring and repetitive tasks is key to remaining a happy and productive animator!

0:00 Intro – Overview of the workflow
1:30 Importing your drawings
2:28 Using actions in Photoshop
5:06 Using scripts to automate actions and using the “Delete white pixels” script on all your layers to make your backgrounds transparent.
6:26 Cleaning up your lines after scanning
8:12 Running the line contrast action on all your layers using the “Line Contrast” script.
9:45 The script you are using just runs an action on multiple layers. If you have your own actions you can use this script to apply them to several layers. This shows you where to find the script and substitute your own actions.
