To create this fairly laidback verison of a split transition, make sure your two shots or composition are cut up like this.
Then create an adjustment layer. Right away go to layer and click solid settings. Divide the height by 3 like this.
Now apply the motion tile effect to the adjustment layer.
Keyframe the tile center to scroll the footage by like this.
Now go to the align tab and align this layer to the top of your project. Then duplicate the adjustment and center align. Do one more duplicate and bottom align it.
Then offset the adjustment layers in time and that’s how to do this simple version of a split transition.
