Adobe InDesign Tips: Character Styles and Nested Styles



Character styles are a way to apply multiple attributes-such as font, size, and color-to text using a single action.

Nested Styles: to make use of styles more convenient and powerful, InDesign lets you nest character styles within paragraph styles. These nested styles allow you to apply distinct character formatting to specific portions of a paragraph–such as the first character, the second word, or the first line–at the same time you apply a paragraph style.
